How would you say the new decade...? Everyone says it differently and each side says theirs is right. Which way do YOU say it?

two thousand and ten.

But I've been writing it as..

2k10 because of my kid

I have been saying two thousand ten. My son and my dearest friend believe it's twenty 10. Some argue this version because of the 1900's. nineteen 50, etc...as in we wouldn't call it One Thousand Nine Hundred Fifty. My argument is if it's twenty ten how come we didn't call it twenty one... (2001), etc ? I suppose I hear the defense of it's always been "eighteen" "nineteen" etc etc and thus it should be twenty but I'm all over this being Two Thousand Ten because the entire decade has been two thousand..not twenty

I haven't said it outloud and it will probably depend on a mood or circumstance. Years are typically spoken as 2 double digit numbers so I'll probably say 20-10. Then again I like the sound of 2000 more than I do 20.

Maybe I won't say the year at all this year. Guess I can't vote huh...

I find it hard to believe, CaroL, that you won't be saying this. It's not like you to not have something to say about anything...lol

I think I'll just say "THIS YEAR"

20-10 for me.

I just keep trying to write 0-... because when I'd write the date for the last 9 years it's always been 0-... now to try to switch to 2010 or even just 10.... it is hard!

As to how to say... don't know

I say two thousand ten because it is counting terms, numerical order and not an address but I'm sure no matter which way you say it........there will always be someone around to correct you...right Pil?

Saying it the other way just doesn't sound right to me. One extra syllable isn't that big of deal tu use.
